About Salesforce

Salesforce is actively hiring for the position of Associate Technical Support Engineer. Joining a growing team like Salesforce can be a great step in your career, especially for Freshers / 0 – 2 Years professionals looking for new opportunities in Hyderabad, India (office-based).

Job Description

This is a frontline customer support job, and the work is technical. Customers around the world will call, email or chat with you when something in Salesforce isn't working, or when they aren't sure how to set something up properly. You listen, work out what's going on, and either fix it or guide them to the right next step. The team is part of a 24/7 operation. Customers are in different time zones, so the support desk never closes, and that shapes the role in two ways. You'll need to stay calm when a customer is frustrated, and you'll need to be flexible about when you work. Salesforce also wants people who think about efficiency. The posting says the support organisation is being built to be "AI-forward," so you'll be expected to use AI tools to solve problems faster and cut repetitive work. This is a support job with a modern angle, not a script-reading one. For a fresher, the appeal is that you learn a real enterprise product from the inside. Support engineers see how companies use Salesforce, where they get stuck and what good configuration looks like. That knowledge carries over to admin, consulting, solutions and customer success roles later.

Key Responsibilities

Handling customer issues by phone, email and chat. This is the core of the job. Because the team is the Global Voice Support team, expect a lot of live conversations. You'll need to explain technical things clearly to people who may not be technical at all. Giving best-practice advice. Customers often don't have a bug, they just aren't sure how to do something well. You'll advise on user management (who can see and do what), data management, reports and dashboards. Good advice here prevents future problems. Knowing when to escalate. Not every issue belongs to you. Some need the Professional Services team, and some are really commercial conversations for the Account Executive team. Spotting this early saves the customer time and is a sign of good judgement. Keeping clean records in Salesforce. Every conversation and case needs to be documented in Salesforce itself. Good notes mean a colleague on another shift can pick up a case without asking the customer to repeat everything. Following processes and improving them. You follow the established support process, but you're also encouraged to suggest better ways of working, particularly where AI or automation could shorten resolution time. Working any shift. Shifts can change with business needs and rotation is expected. Read this one carefully before you apply.

Required Skills

Customer-first mindset. Salesforce says it wants people driven by customer success, not just closing tickets. In practice, that means making sure the customer actually leaves with their problem solved and understood. Fluent English. Almost every interaction is in English, often with customers who speak other first languages. Speak clearly and simply, and confirm the other person has understood. Analytical and problem-solving ability. Support is detective work. A customer says "reports are wrong," and you must narrow down whether it's a filter, a permission, a data issue or something else. Think step by step. Technical aptitude for Salesforce. You don't need to be an expert on day one, but you should be able to learn cloud applications quickly. Cloud software, databases and basic data concepts from your degree all help. Adaptability. Products change, processes change, and shifts change. The posting stresses comfort with ambiguity. Curiosity about AI tools. Be ready to talk about how you've used AI assistants or automation to save time, even in college projects. Self-motivation. You'll often work independently on a case, so you must manage your own time and follow through.

Eligibility Criteria

Degree: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field. Engineering branches such as CSE, IT, ECE and EEE fit "related technical field" in principle, but the posting doesn't list branches, so confirm with the official page. Experience: The posting mentions up to 12 months of experience in voice support, IT or product support, or a customer-handling role. That makes it suitable for fresh graduates and people early in their careers. Language: Fluent written and spoken English is expected. Nice to have: Salesforce ADM 201 and/or ADM 211 certification, experience supporting international clients, and proficiency in German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese or Dutch. None of these are mandatory.

Selection Process

Also note Salesforce's advice to apply for a maximum of 3 roles within 12 months, so pick the roles that suit you best.

Resume Tips

Projects to highlight. Pick projects where you solved a problem for someone else: a helpdesk or ticketing app, a chatbot, a database project, or anything with real users. Describe the outcome, not just the tech stack.

Skills to mention. Customer communication, troubleshooting, SQL basics, understanding of CRM concepts, documentation, and any AI tools you've used to automate work. Use the same terms as the posting (case management, escalation, reports, dashboards) wherever they honestly apply.

Certifications. Salesforce Administrator (ADM 201) is the one the posting names. You can start free on Trailhead, Salesforce's learning platform, and mention in-progress learning on your resume.

Mistakes to avoid.

  • Writing a generic objective instead of a role-specific summary

  • Listing skills you can't discuss in an interview

  • Hiding customer-facing experience like internships, part-time jobs or club roles

  • Long paragraphs, unusual fonts and tables that can confuse resume parsers

Interview Preparation

Technical topics. Revise basics of networking, databases and SQL, operating systems, and how web applications work. Learn what Salesforce does: objects, fields, records, users, profiles, permission sets, reports and dashboards.

Role-specific concepts. Understand what a support ticket lifecycle looks like, what escalation means, and what separates a good case note from a bad one.

Scenario questions. Expect things like "A customer says their dashboard shows wrong numbers. What do you do?" Answer by asking questions, narrowing down causes, checking permissions and data, and knowing when to escalate.

HR questions. Why support? How do you handle an angry customer? Are you comfortable with rotating shifts? Tell me about using AI to save time. Give honest, specific answers.

Practical tips. Practise explaining a technical idea in two minutes to a non-technical friend. Do a few mock calls to improve pace and clarity. Create a free Trailhead account and complete a beginner module so you can speak from hands-on experience.
